Doodling is an Expressive Art Form
There are no rules, and you simply cannot fail. In this workshop we will play, forming shapes of color then working with your personal expressive style. Each piece is extremely unique. No two are ever alike. Class is $140.00 and all materials are provided to create your unique art pieces. Class size is limited, and a $50.00 deposit is required to hold your seat.

In honor of the tradition of weekly painting sessions offered by Gary Langdon at the Door Art Gallery for many years, we are proud to offer “Paint Class.”
Join us for instruction & studio camaraderie!
This class is designed for beginning painters & skilled artists alike with: demonstrations of traditional and experimental techniques in oil media, professional tips & tricks, personal feedback & instruction. Students will be guided in selecting their own content and will work at their own pace. Nurture your painting practice in a welcoming environment surrounded by art & other artists.

Open to all people 18+ with any level of artistic experience Seating limited to 8 students.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Julia Woli Scott creates atmospheric and delicately layered paintings of the natural world that shift and quietly loosen to reveal their materiality. These gestural depictions of human, plant, and animal forms inhabit dream-like abstracted landscapes and traverse metaphoric terrain to explore questions of healing generational & personal trauma.

Pastel Painting Class
In this class you will learn how to build your underpainting so that you can have a successful finished pastel painting. We will do Notans and value studies of your subject matter. We will focus on light and shadow and the importance of values. You will also learn other tricks that will make your pastels sing.
This is an *open forum class structure with classes the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 1:00 to 4:00. I will send an email out a week before our class dates to confirm participation on that particular date.
We welcome beginners to intermediate Pastelists 18 years or older. Class is restricted to a maximum of 10 students.
Artists will be required to work from their own photos unless the instructor provides materials to use. A materials list will be provided upon request. Sometimes the instructor will receive promotional or donated items that she will share with the class.
About the instructor: Deborah Pepin works in oils, cold wax and oils, inks, acrylics and of course Pastels. She found a passion for this lovely medium in 2016. Deborah is a landscape artist and uses her pastels to create those visual memories of those places that she loves. Her work has been accepted in national shows as well as some international shows.
Classes are $49.00 per lesson due and payable on class days.
3rd Wednesday of every month from 1:00 to 4:00.
