Michael T. Murphy is a fine art metal works artist. He uses methods from old world to modern to create unique sculpture and functional art pieces.

Although sometimes starting from a sketch, he creates work with only an idea and not a plan, working from only a few basic lines and finding the finishing details along the way.

He is comfortable working with materials that are thought of as hard and cold, and confident that he can bring forward a softness and beauty that belongs in a home.

Art and function belong together with people, and people are as unique as the art they desire. To bring together art, function and desire is a challenge worth chasing.

Formerly working primarily in steel Michael is now exploring copper, silver and gold.
