Sue Carstens McCline graduated from Fresno State College
with a BA in art. After teaching elementary school for
five years for Fresno Unified, she raised
a family. A recipient of the Fresno Arts Council Horizon
Award, she has been active in many community groups.
She is an emeritus member of the Fresno Art Museum Board
of Trustees.
Although
she had opportunities to paint while her family was
young, Sue began to paint more seriously after her husband
retired. She paints mostly in watercolors, plein air.
Favorite inspirations for making art are usually outdoors.
She also enjoys including figures or animals in paintings.
Sue has exhibited
and received awards in the Madera “Celebrate Agriculture”
Exhibit, and Chris Sorensen Gallery. Painting have been
exhibited in Fresno City Hall, Plums Gallery, Arte Americas,
U.C. Center, Blue Moon Gallery, and the River Center.
She is currently represented at the Blue Moon Gallery
and The Door Art Gallery of Fresno.
