Sally Delap-John works in her studio at the base of the
Sierra Nevada Mountains. She enjoys representing the local
landscape in her work. Sally Delap-John finds excitement
in the pure pigments and the endless, beautiful combinations
they create. She enjoys the immediacy of watercolor to
capture a scene, mood, or light at a particular moment
as it illuminates a subject. Her work is displayed year
round in her studio, which is open to the public by appointment.
Her work has been featured at Plums Gallery and the University
of California Center, Fresno. She has exhibited and won
awards with Alliance of California Artists, Madera Arts
Council Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts, Fresno Fair,
and Society of Western Artists. Sally is a four-year “member”
of the Tuesday Group, a group of plein air painters begun
forty years ago. She is also a founding member of the
Art Stand, a fifteen-person co-operative on the route
to Kings Canyon and Sequoia Naitonal parks. The nearby
Sequoia View Bed and Breakfast/Winery also features her
work.
